Description:

The DAA Auto Case Lubricator provides an efficient solution to a common reloading challenge: maintaining a clean case feeder and unobstructed feed tube while using case lube. It eliminates the need to pre-spray cases—an inconsistent and often messy process—and prevents lubricant from entering the case interior, which most reloaders seek to avoid.

Mounted directly onto the case feeder tube, the unit applies a controlled amount of lubricant to each case as it passes down toward the shell plate. Lubrication levels can be fine-tuned by adjusting both the reservoir fill level and the protrusion length of the wicks. The system uses four wicks to draw lubricant from the reservoir and ensure even, consistent application.

Installation

The unit includes two tube sections compatible with calibers from 9 mm to .45, and it can also be used with rifle cases. The supplied tubes are intentionally longer and must be trimmed to match your existing Dillon case feeder tube.

To determine the correct length:

  1. Insert the short tube into the bottom of the lubricator and the long tube into the top, ensuring both are fully seated.
  2. Stand the assembly upright next to your original case feeder tube to compare lengths.
  3. Cut the long tube to size, trimming only the non-chamfered end. On each tube section, the chamfered ends must remain at the top to ensure smooth case feeding.

Wick Adjustment

To access the wicks, remove the two O-rings and lift off the reservoir cap. When reassembling, ensure the drain tube aligns with its retaining clip.

Proper wick positioning is critical:

  • If the wicks protrude too far, they may obstruct case movement. Larger calibers may require moving the wicks outwards.
  • If too short, lubrication may be insufficient.

Adjust by gently pushing or pulling the wicks to achieve light contact with the cases.

Operation

After installation and adjustment:

  • Secure the drain tube in the raised position using the retaining clip.
  • Fill the reservoir partially with your preferred case lube. A lower fill level results in lighter lubrication; start at approximately one-third full and adjust as needed.
  • When first used, a minute or two is required for the wicks to absorb the case lube.

At the end of your session:

  • Lower the drain tube and return any remaining lubricant to a sealed container.
  • Do not leave lubricant in the unit, as alcohol-based carriers will evaporate quickly.
