I was so impressed by the function of the mini case feeder I bought one for my Brother in Law for his Dillon 550. I love it

I was excited to receive my mini case feeder but, quickly learned this is not a typical "plug-and-play" product. After assembly I could not get cases to drop consistently when pulling the charging handle. I reached out to Double Alpha and quickly got a response from Josh who, thru many emails,...

Okay, it works as stated and yes get the bowl for loading the cases.

I gave it 4 stars because with 223 brass sometimes it slightly pulls them back and they won’t feed smoothly into the die.

Installation video leaves much to be desired. It would have been nice to see where ALL the parts go in the video instead of having to experiment. The 2 screws that hold the feeder onto the press will cause the bottom to pull away from the press when you tighten them securely. The bottom of the...

Great tool and total recommendation, no installation manual included, but the video from Saul is even better and understandable. It takes a little time to set it up correctly, but after that everything runs smoothly, and even after 3000 cartridges it is still without problems.

As a quick follow-up apparently both older and the newest 550s have this ledge on top of the loader. Also loaded over 150 rounds on the unit and it's working well. Owning a 750 with a case feeder, i have to get used to keeping an eye on the case tubes so it doesn't go empty for long or we burn up...

took a while to get it all setup and running right..be SURE your primer system is running 100 % as the case feeder tube section is connected to the primer tube for support.. removing it when you have primer issues simply complicates the issue.. word to the DAA folks, the portion that is supposed...

I'm so happy I waited for the DAA 550 mini case feeder. Seriously I have been wanting this since the first prototype was introduced and it has been worth the wait. I followed Saul's YouTube vid and Initial testing with 9 mm has been perfect. I get so excited just writing about it. It's a great...

Installed easily. I watched the entire installation video before assembly. Had to remove .015 from plastic part that mounts to press, a rough file worked great. I have the factory Dillon handle so no problems with clearance. You can manually fill the bottom tube by running the press up halfway...

Works as advertised once adjusted. Customer service is quick and knowledgeable about the product. I initially failed to adjust the upper section placing it about 1/8 - 3/16" too far toward the front of the press which made the throw of the case feeding shuttle to long. Once I talked to the...

Got mine Friday and it took some time to install. First my press is 30 years old. In video it was said you would need to file on newer machines. Not correct as mine had the lip and needed to file down. IMPORTANT it did not work with Dillon roller handle. There was not enough clearance. I was...

DAA 550 Mini Case Feeder

(12)
Manufacturers: Double-Alpha Academy
MINI CASE FEEDER NOTE:
May not work with all Dillon Roller handles, as some seem to be more angled inwards towards the press.

Description:

The DAA 550 Mini Case Feeder will greatly improve the efficiency of your Dillon 550 reloading press!

By automatically feeding the cases into the shell plate, this clever accessory allows you to keep your right hand on the handle as you operate the press, and eliminates the need to pick up and orientate each piece of brass manually and feed it into the shell plate. Your reloading will be faster, easier and more enjoyable!

Please be sure to watch the video tutorials on Setup and caliber conversion BEFORE attempting to use your 550 Mini Case Feeder!

Unlock the full potential of your Dillon 550 case feeder with this device, which ships complete and ready to use to load most pistol calibers, as well as .223 and .300BO.

You can switch calibers on the case feeder in under a minute, making this solution perfect for 550 reloaders who often reload many calibers.

Supported calibers include: .380ACP, 9mm, 9x21, 9x23, .38S, .40SW, .45ACP, .38SPL, .357MAG .223, .300BO*
* to use the case feeder with 300BO, you need to modify the Type A case slider adaptor, making it shorter by 1.5-2.0mm. You can do so using a file, Dremmel, or belt sander. After this modification the Type A spacer can still be used without issue for the .357, but it will no longer function with the 38SPL. If you require both 300BO and .38SPL calibers – contact us for a spare Type A spacer.

Your DAA 550 Mini Case Feeder includes the following parts:

  • One 6 tube magazine assembly (will hold approx..150pcs of 9mm, or 130 of .40 or .38S)
  • Magazine holder assembly
  • Plunger assembly
  • Rail assembly
  • Feed Track assembly
  • 5 feed tubes
  • 3 case slider adaptors
  • Large (Rifle) case feeder

Additional magazine tubes can be purchased separately, and we highly recommend the use of the optional Mini Case Feeder Bowl  to greatly speed up the process of filling the tubes.

The 2 screws that hold the feeder onto the press will cause the bottom to pull away from the press when you tighten them securely. The bottom of the feeder bracket had to be shimmed to prevent it from pulling away from the press. If it pulls away the lever does not make contact and the unit does not work

I am really satisfied in using the DAA Mini Case Feeder for my Dillon 550, without taking my hand off the roller handle every time while loading.
I suggest everybody to get a second or third case feeder tube, because 150 cartridges are now loaded very quickly.
The only thing that bothered a little at the beginning was the steel pin to hold the activator in position. After a reloading season, when take the tool head down to empty the remaining powder of the powder hopper, you have to loosen this pin every time. But after a few times of practice, its getting very quick.

Owning a 750 with a case feeder, i have to get used to keeping an eye on the case tubes so it doesn't go empty for long or we burn up the cases in the funnel tube and you need to refill it to keep the unit operating well so having some spare cases around may help early on.

took a while to get it all setup and running right..be SURE your primer system is running 100 % as the case feeder tube section is connected to the primer tube for support.. removing it when you have primer issues simply complicates the issue.. word to the DAA folks, the portion that is supposed to slide down the primer tube is WAY too tight even when spreading it with a couple of screw drivers.. no reason for it to be that tight.. I ran a 9/16 reamer thru it to loosen it up some and it needs even more. It should simply drop on and then be tightened up by the two screws. a slight design change here will help most folks.. Also it's older units that have the raised ridge on the 550 so the majority of users will have to modify the 2nd section to fit.. easy to do but again a slight design change would eliminate this for most users.. having a slight cut on the 1st 1/8" will work on all units and eliminate the user having to do this.. overall the the unit works fine once you get it all setup. The loader bowl is well work the extra $20 as it works perfectly and speeds up filling the tubes.

I followed Saul's YouTube vid and Initial testing with 9 mm has been perfect. I get so excited just writing about it. It's a great way to increase your productivity with out breaking the bank. And with the money I saved on the case feeder as opposed to other brands I'll have to consider adding the Mini Mr. bullet feeder for even greater production. Thank you DAA Team, Great Job!

Installed easily. I watched the entire installation video before assembly. Had to remove .015 from plastic part that mounts to press, a rough file worked great. I have the factory Dillon handle so no problems with clearance. You can manually fill the bottom tube by running the press up halfway and actuating the part above the center bolt by hand.

Works as advertised once adjusted. Customer service is quick and knowledgeable about the product. I initially failed to adjust the upper section placing it about 1/8 - 3/16" too far toward the front of the press which made the throw of the case feeding shuttle to long. Once I talked to the customer service and was told how to adjust it I made the adjustment noted above, moving the upper section to the back of the press and the issue was resolved. I've had the unit less than a week and have loaded about 800 rounds of 9mm so far. The loader bowl is well worth adding to the purchase too.

Not correct as mine had the lip and needed to file down. IMPORTANT it did not work with Dillon roller handle. There was not enough clearance. I was loading 9mm and missed the need to put spacer in. Rewatched video and saw went in back side. I think in short while it will be worth the investment.
