Loading 9mm on my XL650, I found that the plastic insert was tight and some times it would not go all the way down, I had to sand it a little. I also found that the alarm would drift off the mark, doing well for a few rounds then going off. I measure about the first 100 rounds to insure a proper charge. At times I thought I should go back to my Dillon check but wanted to see if I could iron out the problems. I fiddled around with it till I finally got it to work. Bob.

[DAA Reply]: The Plastic insert does indeed need to move loosely and smoothly inside the die body. Sorry if you had to sand that down. Sometimes a small burr on a plastic piece can cause that. We do test for that, but may have missed it...
Not sure what you mean by "drift", but pleased to read you have it setup correctly and working well now.

This is the best powder checker I have been able to use.

Very happy with this powderchecker. Easy to set up and one of the best functions is that it is activated by the case. So no faulty alarms. I also hooked it up to my Mark7 using the cables from my Dillon powdercheck. It works great and is very cheap in my mind.

Very compact and slick device. Way more modern looking than the Dillon version. It took me a while to adjust the magnet position so as not to get false beeps, but once I had it in the right height it works like a charm. Going to get a 2nd one for my other toolhead.

I like this new powder check. I feel much better with the security of having this check in place as I reload. I have a couple of the Dillon ones too, but wanted a new one for an additional 1050 tool head and decided to try this one out. I like the additional LED red light indicator. It’s bright and grabs your attention if you orientate the body of the checker to face you. I do find however that some powder gets picked up on the rod, which is the same problem I have with my Dillon checker too. I guess that’s unavoidable with any powder checker that makes physical contact with the powder in the case. Setup was quick and easy. I like it.
