Mark 7 1050X Autodrive

Reviews: 4.5 of 5 Stars!(Current Reviews: 4.52)

Double-Alpha is proud to be the exclusive European Distributor of this fantastic 1050 Autodrive system.

The Mark 7 1050X Autodrive stands head-and-shoulders above the competition when it comes to automating your Dillon Precision 1050 press. Never before has there been such an advanced and easy to use automation option for your 1050. If you’re looking for the best in speed, efficiency and performance, look no further!

The engineering team at Mark 7 set out to make an Autodrive system that would be “plug and play” even though it is the most advanced system ever conceived. In this they have succeeded. This system can be unpacked from the box, assembled to your press and be up and running in well under an hour. The Mark 7 1050X Autodrive “learns” your 1050, calibrates itself to your press and is ready to go. Just add components, and keep feeding it!

The Mark 7 1050X Autodrive is packed full of hi-tech advanced features. It is a patented digital drive system which features a digitally controlled clutch, allowing you to set the clutch levels as desired. Programmable indexing speed and a first ever dwell-time delay setting, makes this a truly customizable solution. You can easily set it up just right for YOUR ammo and YOUR loading preferences.

The Mark 7 1050X Autodrive in controlled by a tablet computer (included) and offers a wide arrange of computer controlled options for counters and Stops, as well as external sensors for the primer level (included) and an optional optic primer output sensor. It is hands-down the quietest Autodrive system on the market, and offers a wide range of upgradable features, with more abilities and sensors being added by the Mark 7 engineering team.

The Mark 7 1050X Autodrive has adjustable speed options which are set by the user and can be adjusted on the fly. Cycle rates up to 1,800 are available, and give an effective output rate of approximately 1,600 rounds loaded per hour, depending on dwell time and indexing speed control setting.

After a lot of pondering I decided to go with the Mark7. So far I have done almost 3500 rounds with it and I think that this machine is very good. Here are my Cons & Pros : As usual Cons go first (-) - Low primer sensor : This is a just bulky contact switch that you have to screw on top of your Dillon low-primer sensor; those 2 guys don't want to work together. They have different levels of triggering and you end up wondering what's really going on with your primers. I had to put away the Dillon sensor and managed somehow to snap the Mark7 sensor on top of my 1050 primer tube. Trust me it's a mess to fix and it look like junk. But it works... - Wires : Ok this is a real issue. My Super1050 has a brass distributor and a Mister Bullet feeder, that makes 2 electric cords running around the machine. Now add, the Mark7 main power supply, plus 3 cables going from the electronic box to the engine of the Mark7, plus an USB cable and power supply for the tablet, plus the Mark7 low-primers sensor wire that goes from top right of your machine down to the low left of it, and you end up with a very classic spaghetti plate all around your Dillon. Knowing that I have electricity everywhere around a machine that holds powder and primers makes me kind a nervous... especially when there is no simple way to secure all those cables. - Electronic housing : It's made out of a thin rigid plastic that cracks very easily and ruins the aesthetic of the Mark7 Now Pros (+) + Usage : Once you have "stabilised" your 1050 (and it might get tricky sometimes) your Mark7 will be just fantastic !! It operates smoothly and exactly as expected. Just great. + Ergonomics : The Clutch, the Jog up/down features and of course the End-Cycle functionality make the machine extremely flexible and allow you to almost solve any difficult situation into which your 1050 might drag you. Another fantastic feature is the ability that the machine offers to fine tune the up and down lag time of the tools head. It's very useful ! These are even better when combined with the shell-plate indexing speed fine-tuning, I now have no more powder spilling at all ! Never. This is awesome. + Installation : Just follow the excellent Mark7 installation video. It's a breeze. So overall, low-primer sensor and plastic housing are a shame, and wires are a real problem BUT all the rest is just incredibly well though and built. I love my Mark7 (and I can't wait to have a neat small bluetooth low-primer sensor) Overall I'll rate the Mar7 a 4.7 / 5.0
